Smith Art Collection

The E. Darin Smith Collection is an art museum located in Richmond, Virginia, USA, along the world famous Monument Avenue in a converted early 20th Century Gothic Revival building designed by architect, Ralph Adams Cram. The main building houses special exhibitions and the permanent collection, and it anchors the outdoor sculpture garden. Known as a place where old and new, Christian and Muslim, art and space, all combine to show that we are all members of a global society that is defined more by our similarities than by our differences.

Loan shows and artist projects are the most visible exhibitions, featuring new perspectives and new scholarship that questions authority and authorship within and outside the art world. Making art accessible is vital to the Collection’s mission, so no admission will be charged and all public programs are free.
